Request for Bids: Vehicle Storage Shed Construction
The City of Pickens is now accepting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the demolition of an existing structure and construction of a new vehicle storage shed.
This project supports the City’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and replace facilities impacted by past storm damage.
Project Overview
The scope of work includes:
- Partial demolition of an existing building damaged during Hurricane Helene
- Construction of a new vehicle storage shed per engineered plans
- Installation of electrical systems and components
- Installation of gutters and downspouts
- Coordination with the City on final exterior finishes

- Bidding Period: April 13, 2026 – May 5, 2026
- Mandatory Site Visit: April 23, 2026 at 10:00 AM
- Bid Deadline: May 5, 2026 at 9:30 AM
- Bid Opening: May 5, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Pickens City Hall

Bid Requirements
All submitted bids must include:
- Sealed bid with total project cost
- Proposed project schedule
- Certificate of Insurance
- Signed Site Condition Acknowledgement confirming site visit
Contractors are responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and must hold a valid City of Pickens business license.
Project Timeline
- Construction must begin within 45 days of contract award.
Award Criteria
Bids will be evaluated based on:
- Total project cost
- Contractor experience with similar projects
The City reserves the right to award the contract to the most responsive and responsible bidder, not necessarily the lowest bid.
