The Fire Department’s mission is to improve the quality of life for residents and visitors of the City of Pickens by protecting lives and property through fire suppressions, rescue, disaster preparedness, fire prevention and community education.

The Pickens Fire Department’s primary function is to save lives and property through fire suppression, fire prevention, emergency medical services, rescue, and community education.

Over 20 Years of Service

Fire Chief Chris Elrod has been with the department since 2002. He has been instrumental in the fire department’s recent growth. Over the past few years there have been many new additions to the department including new part-time positions, new equipment, upgraded living quarters, and more.

Most recently, the Pickens Fire Department added a Memorial Garden located in front of the station. This Memorial Garden is dedicated to all members that have served the Department for 20 years or more.
