CDL Driver – Streets & Sanitation

Pay Range: $20.00 – $21.00 per hour

The City of Pickens is seeking a dependable, safety-minded, and community-focused professional to serve as a CDL Driver (Class B) in our Public Works – Streets and Sanitation Department. This essential role helps keep our community clean, safe, and operating efficiently through residential collection routes and street maintenance support.

POSITION OVERVIEW

This position is ideal for an individual who values teamwork, reliability, and public service. The successful candidate will:

• Operate a residential sanitation collection vehicle safely and efficiently.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Assist with street maintenance and general Public Works operations as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of residential routes and the Pickens area (preferred).
• Follow all safety regulations and departmental procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Knowledge of the Pickens area preferred.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.
